I was just going through some notes from during the season for a Friday practice the day before an invite. It was a pretty standard pre-race workout. 25 minutes of jogging and some strides. We spent time reminding kids of the purpose of the run (keeping their legs loose and their blood thick). We talked about the importance of staying calm, smiling, breathing, being confident, and the number of good teams that would be there tomorrow and not to be afraid of anyone.

It is November and there has been plenty of time to reflect on the season. There were certainly ups and downs during the season, just as their often are in a race or a workout.
We have been blessed to have so many amazing parents supporting the team! There were obvious highlights (winning the Parkside and Troy Invites) and the team overall benefited from a slight increase in mileage this season over prior years. Next season there will be another small increase in mileage as well as some tweaking to the workouts. We look forward to another amazing season next season and encourage students to stay active and do some running before track season. |
